Who is Jason Hudson ?

Founder & Head Coach

Jason Hudson is one of Ohio’s most respected track and field coaches, bringing more than 25 years of experience developing athletes at the youth, high school, collegiate, and national levels.

As Founder and Head Coach of Oberlin Spikes Track & Field Club, Jason has transformed a small community-based program into one of the region’s premier youth track organizations, helping athletes achieve success at the state, regional, and national levels. Under his leadership, Oberlin Spikes has produced state champions, national qualifiers, collegiate athletes, and countless young people who have developed confidence, discipline, and leadership through the sport of track and field.

Throughout his distinguished coaching career, Jason has held leadership positions at Oberlin College, Case Western Reserve University, The College of Wooster, and Cleveland State University. His experience spans every level of athlete development, from introducing young athletes to the fundamentals of competition to mentoring collegiate athletes pursuing conference championships and national recognition.

Beyond coaching, Jason has dedicated his career to helping student-athletes succeed in all aspects of life. His background in student-athlete development, wellness, and education reflects a coaching philosophy that extends far beyond athletic performance. He believes that track and field serves as a powerful platform for teaching perseverance, accountability, character, and lifelong success.

Today, Jason’s vision for Oberlin Spikes is centered on providing athletes of all backgrounds with access to exceptional coaching, positive mentorship, and opportunities to reach their full potential. Through a commitment to excellence both on and off the track, he continues to inspire the next generation of athletes while building a program that positively impacts families and communities throughout Northeast Ohio.
